WORKSHOP DETAILS:

In this three-day workshop we’ll make the Unisex Shirt by Modern Sewing Co.

The Unisex Shirt is a classic long sleeve button-up shirt that has been slightly modified to accommodate a range of body shapes (up to a 50” chest). It features plackets, cuffs, patch pockets, double yoke, and a traditional collar and collar stand. The fit of the shirt is designed to sit slightly dropped on the shoulder with a straight torso (rather than tapered). This workshop will elevate your sewing skills and improve your confidence through teaching a wide range of classic shirt-making techniques.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

All fabric, notions, and equipment are provided. Each participant will have a dedicated sewing machine to work on during class. A copy of the digital pattern will be sent to participants at the end of the workshop as well.

Saturday May 3rd from 9:00 am- 2pm (last session may end early if less time is needed)

SKILL LEVEL

Advanced beginner. Ages 16+. Prior sewing experience is required. You should feel comfortable operating a sewing machine and sewing with small seam allowances. Prior garment sewing experience is helpful but not required. This is a great project for sewist looking to elevate their sewing skills, tackle an in-depth project with plenty of hands on guidance, and learn classic shirt-making techniques. This workshop has extra time baked in to make sure we can go at a comfortable relaxed pace and have fun.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

I am a one-woman business and it is extremely hard to fill workshops last minute. If you need to cancel your spot and are able to give over 48 hours' notice, you will receive a digital store credit that can be used for a future workshop. Store credits never expire. If you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice you will not receive a refund or store credit. All workshops must have at least three participants to run. If a workshop does not have at least two participants, you will be notified 24 hours in advance that the workshop is cancelled and will have your choice of being issued a refund or store credit.

MISSED SESSIONS:

Partial refunds are not available if you can't finish a multi-day workshop.

SIZING: Please see the sizing chart below to select your size. Finished garment measurements are in centimeters. Your paper pattern pieces will be prepared in your size for the first workshop, please reach out if you would like some guidance on determining which size to make. You’ll choose one of three sleeve sizes during the workshop to get the right sleeve length for you. You may even consider sizing up 1-2 sizes if you want to style it as an over shirt.
